Nutritional Advice

The phrase “you are what you eat” doesn’t apply just to human health.  And with so many different sources of nutritional information around - from friends and neighbors to salespeople at pet stores - it’s hard to know what to believe and what to feed.  Add in the abundance of food products available on the market today, figuring out the best nutrition choice can be a challenge.

With every physical exam and health evaluation, we review your pet’s current diet plan.  We frequently see pets where nutrition plays a critical role in their overall health.  This includes both poor diet choices causing malnutrition and illness, to therapeutic diets that aid in recovery and control of specific medical conditions.  Based our our assessment, your pet’s breed, age, weight and present health status, we can recommend a specific diet plan including how much and how often to feed.

We encourage your questions about this very important aspect of your pet’s care.  Whatever your pet’s needs - whether it’s simple nutrition, enhanced performance, weight control, or disease management - we can help design a plan to meet those needs.
